FeaturedCreate News Tim KarutzSunday 14th June 2026 / 9:37pm ![]() S5 LTLHL Defenseman of the Year The committee nominated 8 players for the LTLHL Defenseman of the Year: D Ed Zandbeek (Militia), D Charlie Esau (Moose), D Eric Picklyk (Dockheads), D Konosuke Matsui (Stormbreakers), D Arnt Pfeffer (Trident), D Curtis Gordic (Blues), D Curtis Rowlands (Moose), and D Spencer Lafortune (Privateers). Dockheads’ defender Eric Picklyk’s stranglehold on this award has taken a break this year as we have a new winner. Congratulations to Massachusetts' D Ed Zandbeek and the Militia. The 35 year old Canadian earned 7 first place votes from the committee on his way to winning. Zandbeek’s Statline: 80 GP - 9 G - 55 A - 64 Pts - -1 - 121 PIM - 6 PPP - 2 GWG - 5.63 S% - 119 Hits - 109 TA - 31 GA - 189 SB - 24.57 AM/P Massachusetts Militia - 41 wins & 91 points - 9th in LTLHL, 5th in Northern Conference, 2nd in Northeast Division Here are the nominations from the Awards Committee: - “While he does not have the best +/- ratio, he lead the league in takeaways by a huge margin (he has 109, next best is at 77. Its also a league record for most takeaways in a season) AND lead the league in shots blocked with 189 (189 is also 2nd most for shots blocked in a season in league history). He was the 5th most utilised player in the league, averaging a crazy 24.57mins per game. Zandbeek could've also been considered for the regular season MVP award, as he also led his team in points with 64 in 80 GP (2nd best for a Dman last season).” - “Zandbeek, at 35 years old, started all 80 games and had a career year. Amongst qualified defenders, the Militia captain finished 1st in blocked shots (189: 40 more than the next defender) and takeaways (109: 32 more than the next player), 2nd in scoring (64p), T-2nd in PIM (121), 4th in average minutes per game (24.57), 11th in shots (160), and Top 50 in hits. His -1 plus/minus is certainly a blemish, but he played on a team that tied with Denver for the most goals allowed (294) while simultaneously scoring the most goals in the league (296). Zandbeek was the leading scorer on the LTLHL’s highest scoring offense and his 55 assists were T-8th amongst all skaters. I think it is fair to say he should have been considered for MVP.” - “Ed Zandbeek - Militia - 64 pts - led all D in A, durable and played all 80 games” - “I nominate Ed Zandbeek of the Militia for Defenseman of the year. Always a monster defensively with crazy shots blocked and take away totals but also put up 64 points making him a huge threat at both ends of the ice.” - “I nominate Ed Zandbeek for DOTY. 2nd in league scoring for D men, only 3 behind Picklyk but a much more respectable +/-. Most shot blocks in the league. Decent amount of hits Good mix of offense and defense.” - “Ed Zanbeek - Militia: one of two dmen with 60 points (2nd in the league), over 100 shots, hits, and closing in on 200 blocked shots (which was the most in the league). Averaged the 5th most minutes per game. Had 109 takeaways, by far the most by over 30!” View comments (1) | Edit News
CommissionerSaturday 13th June 2026 / 2:58pm ![]() Season 5 GM of the Year The Season 5 Alex Bouchard Award goes to the man it’s named for, Alex Bouchard. This season the Trident made big strides in their performance. At times they led their division, although by season end they fell just a couple wins short of that goal. The division was so tight that just 2 points separated the top 3 teams in this division.
7 GMs received nominations this year and after a very tight vote Alex emerged as the winner. While winning the Conference title and advancing to the Finals were very impressive they weren’t the only factors that made Alex stand out. It isn’t always about the results, although they were very good. Alex has taken the path of a slow build since the league’s inception and has assembled a very talented young team that should be a contender for years to come. He's done an outstanding job with drafting and developing his roster. He’s always an active GM with trades and discussion and of course his work on the admin team and with the website and programming makes this league the best it can be.
Congratulations Alex on being our GM of the Year for Season 5. View comments (2) | Edit News
Tim KarutzFriday 12th June 2026 / 7:45pm ![]() Season 5 - LTLHL MVP & Statistical Awards Like our Farm League, the LTLHL has 6 statistically-determined awards, but, unlike our Farm League, the Pros have 7 awards nominated and selected by our Awards Committee (Regular Season MVP, Defenseman of the Year, Goalie of the Year, Rookie of the Year, Coach of the Year, Alex Bouchard Award & Beacon Cup MVP). The then-33 year old Canadian’s Statline: 80 GP - 49 G - 58 A - 107 Pts - +29 - 98 PIM - 6 PPG - 10 GWG - 13.00 S% - 108 Hits - 19 TA - 54 GA - 40 SB Los Angeles Dynasty - 42 wins & 89 points - 11th in LTLHL, 7th in Southern Conference, 2nd in Southwest Division Here are the nominations from the Awards Committee: - “My nomination for MVP is Dynasty F Jaiden Moar. Led the league in scoring, almost hit 50 goals and led the Dynasty to the top of the standings and into the playoffs.” - “Moar set the single season record for points (107) and tied for most goals in a season (49). His 107 points were 11 points clear of the next player (his teammate RW Zayev), his 10 game-winners tied him for 2nd in the league, and his +29 ranked him 4th in the league. Moar’s record setting season helped the Dynasty finish 2nd in a division that put 3 teams in the playoffs, and removing him from the lineup most likely results in LA missing the playoffs.” - “Jaiden Moar - led the league in goal and points, 5th in assist. Single handily got the Dynasty into the playoffs.” - “I nominate C Jaiden Moar of the Dynasty. Had a career year scoring 49 goals and 107 points which was a new league record. Was instrumental in the Dynasty's success in all facets of the game. 18 pp pts, 6 sh goals, 10 gw goals, 55% in FO” - “First in the league in goals and points, tied 2nd in +/-, 2nd in total shots, as well as top 5 in PP points. was also top 10 in FO%. Also flashed his defensive side while playing the 2nd most PK minutes among forwards, where the Dynasty PK was slightly above league average. A true offensive force, setting records to help propel the Dynasty to their first playoff berth.” Moar is the second center to win the award and the first Dynasty player to take home the MVP.
