Bing’s Statline:  24 GP - 17 G - 15 A - 32 Pts - +15 - 22 PIM - 4 PPP - 4 GWG - 18.89 S% - 37 Hits - 11 TA - 23 GA - 14 SB - 17.83 AM/G

Accolades: Beacon Cup Champion; Northern Conference Champion

Here are the nominations from the Awards Committee:

- “Brentt Bing - Harfang - 17 goals in 24 game?? Led all playoff performers with 32 points. Had some HUGE goals to help Harfang win Championship.”

- “I nominate Brent Bing. He scored 3 big unanswered goals in less than 8 mins in the 1st period of game 7, which gave his team a huge momentum and practically sealed the deal right then and there. He also finished as the best scorer in the playoffs with 32 points in 24 games and a +15 rating.”

- “Brentt Bing - Led skaters in goals and points, had 4 GWG and 3 game tying goals (led both categories) and single handedly led the Harfangs to a Championship.”

- “RW Brentt Bing - Harfang: led all players in goals and points, tied 1st in +/-, 1st in shots, and led the league in PP goals”

- “Bing led all playoffs in points (32), goals (17), +/- (+15), shots (90), and GWG (4). The RW scored a hat-trick in game 7 of the finals and is an all-time Beacon Cup performance. He is the straw that stirred the Harfang drink and led this team to its first Beacon Cup Championship.”

S5 LTLHL Coach of the Year -

The committee nominated 7 coaches for the LTLHL Coach of the Year: Kris Lemieux (Razorbacks), Chris Martin (Voltage), John Moyer (Blues), Julian Trudel (Tridents), Kent Gould (Twisters), Louis Roy (Royals), and Matt Binns (Harfang).

Congratulations to St. Paul’s coach Kris Lemieux and the Razorbacks! The now-retired 69 year old Canadian earned 7 first place votes from the committee.

- S5 Razorbacks - 47 wins & 98 points - 1st in LTLHL, 1st in Southern Conference, 1st in MidWest Division

- S4 - 38 wins & 84 points - 19th in LTLHL

Here are the nominations from the Awards Committee:

- “Lemieux of the Razorbacks for coach of the Year. Razorback had a +14 improvement and finished at the top.”

- “Kris Lemieux - Razorbacks: Missing the playoffs last year, the Razorbacks had a 14 point improvement, winning the president's trophy (or our equivalent). Was 3rd in total goals scored for the 2nd consecutive season. A +41 goal differential compared to just a season ago.”

- “I submit Kris Lemieux as the best coach of the year. The Razorbacks had the most wins this season, had the best GF/GA differential in the league and finished at the very top of the standings. All that after finishing at the 19th rank in the standings last year.”

- “Took the 19th place team last season to 1st place this season. Most wins with 47 Best goal differential with +30 Got fired.”

S5 LTLHL Rookie of the Year -

The committee nominated 6 players for the LTLHL Rookie of the Year: RW Eddi Scholler (Razorbacks), D Aake Listemnaa (Voltage), C Greyson Troduff (Twisters), LW Jan Poulsen (Mighty Moose), D Milos Levers (Mighty Moose) and D Rene Pietila (Razorbacks).

Congratulations to St. Paul’s RW Eddi Scholler and the Razorbacks! The S5 6th overall pick earned a unanimous selection (11 first place votes) from the committee.

Scholler’s Statline:  80 GP - 34 G - 38 A - 72 Pts - +12 - 48 PIM - 12 PPP - 3 GWG - 11.97 S% - 91 Hits - 18 TA - 68 GA - 31 SB

St. Paul Razorbacks - 47 wins & 98 points - T-1st in LTLHL, 1st in Southern Conference, 1st in MidWest Division

Here are the nominations from the Awards Committee:

- “Eddi Scholler - Razorbacks - led all rookies in scoring, led all rookies with 34G and was a +12.”

- “Eddi Scholler- Dominant season with 72 pts, Rene Pietila 38 pts and an impressive +36.”

- “Eddi Scholler - Lead the league in goals and points. Almost 20 more points than the next rookie. Nearly 300 shots.”

- “S5 ROTY: Eddi Scholler - led all rookies in goal and points, second in assists and had less than 17 minutes a night on average.”

- “RW Eddi Scholler of the Razorbacks. Lead all rookies in goals, points, shots and a solid 1.09 p/20. Ended up 3rd in scoring on the best team in the league this year.”

- “RW Eddie Scholler - Razorbacks: finished first in all rookie scoring with 72 points. Was first in rookies for shots, PP goals, PP points, and was 3rd on the best team during the regular season. Also had a +12 rating.”

- “The league’s most recent 6th overall pick sure played the #1 pick all season. Scholler started all 80 games and led all rookies in points (72), goals (34), and shots (284). The rookie helped the Razorbacks win the Southern Conference and Midwest Division.”

S5 LTLHL Goalie of the Year -

The committee nominated 5 players for the LTLHL Goalie of the Year: G Andrew Dumont (Knights), G Kylian Lind (Dynasty), G Tsurayaki (Trident), G Sampa Poununen (Blues), and G Terence Audet (Royals).

Congratulations to Los Angeles G Kylian Lind and the Dynasty! The 6’7 Canadian earned 7 first place votes from the committee.

Lind’s Statline:  53 GP - 31 W - 18 L - 1 OTL - 0 SO - 2.90 GAA - .921 PCT - 2959 MIN

Los Angeles Dynasty - 42 wins & 89 points - 11th in LTLHL, 7th in Southern Conference, 2nd in Southwest  Division

Here are the nominations from the Awards Committee:

-“Kylian Lind - Dynasty - great record, led Dynasty up the standings. Great story since he did all this after coming off the FA list. Best SP% of goalies who played 50 games or more.”

-“Kyllian Lind: 3rd in wins (31); 2nd in SV% (0.921); 5th in GAA (2.90); Without him the dynasty would not have made the playoffs, even with the offensive output.”

-“I nominate Kyllian Lind of the Dynasty for Goalie of the Year. Was just one win off the league lead with 9 and 13 less games played than the leaders. Had a solid winning% of 59.4, just behind the league leader with greater than .920 save percentage and under 3.00 GAA.”

-“Kyllian Lind - Dynasty: was 3rd in goalie wins and tied 2nd in sv%. The dynasty were around middle of the pack for goals against and PK%. But a stable force in nets was what helped the dynasty secure their first ever playoff birth. The offence took care of it's job, and Lind came in to help stabilize a net that was a problem when controlled by Macleish.”

S5 LTLHL Defenseman of the Year -

The committee nominated 8 players for the LTLHL Defenseman of the Year: D Ed Zandbeek (Militia), D Charlie Esau (Moose), D Eric Picklyk (Dockheads), D Konosuke Matsui (Stormbreakers), D Arnt Pfeffer (Trident), D Curtis Gordic (Blues), D Curtis Rowlands (Moose), and D Spencer Lafortune (Privateers).

Dockheads’ defender Eric Picklyk’s stranglehold on this award has taken a break this year as we have a new winner. Congratulations to Massachusetts' D Ed Zandbeek and the Militia. The 35 year old Canadian earned 7 first place votes from the committee on his way to winning.

Zandbeek’s Statline:  80 GP - 9 G - 55 A - 64 Pts - -1 - 121 PIM - 6 PPP - 2 GWG - 5.63 S% - 119 Hits - 109 TA - 31 GA - 189 SB - 24.57 AM/P

Massachusetts Militia - 41 wins & 91 points - 9th in LTLHL, 5th in Northern Conference, 2nd in Northeast Division

Here are the nominations from the Awards Committee:

- “While he does not have the best +/- ratio, he lead the league in takeaways by a huge margin (he has 109, next best is at 77. Its also a league record for most takeaways in a season) AND lead the league in shots blocked with 189 (189 is also 2nd most for shots blocked in a season in league history). He was the 5th most utilised player in the league, averaging a crazy 24.57mins per game. Zandbeek could've also been considered for the regular season MVP award, as he also led his team in points with 64 in 80 GP (2nd best for a Dman last season).”

- “Zandbeek, at 35 years old, started all 80 games and had a career year. Amongst qualified defenders, the Militia captain finished 1st in blocked shots (189: 40 more than the next defender) and takeaways (109: 32 more than the next player), 2nd in scoring (64p), T-2nd in PIM (121), 4th in average minutes per game (24.57), 11th in shots (160), and Top 50 in hits. His -1 plus/minus is certainly a blemish, but he played on a team that tied with Denver for the most goals allowed (294) while simultaneously scoring the most goals in the league (296). Zandbeek was the leading scorer on the LTLHL’s highest scoring offense and his 55 assists were T-8th amongst all skaters. I think it is fair to say he should have been considered for MVP.”

- “Ed Zandbeek - Militia - 64 pts - led all D in A, durable and played all 80 games”

- “I nominate Ed Zandbeek of the Militia for Defenseman of the year. Always a monster defensively with crazy shots blocked and take away totals but also put up 64 points making him a huge threat at both ends of the ice.”

- “I nominate Ed Zandbeek for DOTY. 2nd in league scoring for D men, only 3 behind Picklyk but a much more respectable +/-. Most shot blocks in the league. Decent amount of hits Good mix of offense and defense.”

- “Ed Zanbeek - Militia: one of two dmen with 60 points (2nd in the league), over 100 shots, hits, and closing in on 200 blocked shots (which was the most in the league). Averaged the 5th most minutes per game. Had 109 takeaways, by far the most by over 30!”

Season 5 - LTLHL MVP & Statistical Awards -

In order to be eligible for MVP, skaters must play at least 60 games, goalies must play at least 45, and be on a team that makes the playoffs.

Here are your Season 5 Regular Season LTLHL League Award winners:

- Offensive Player of the Year (Points Leader) - Los Angeles Dynasty C Jaiden Moar - 107 Points

- Goal Scoring Leader - Los Angeles Dynasty C Jaiden Moar - 49 Goals

- Assist Scoring Leader - Las Vegas Voltage C Sten Banga - 64 Assists

- Plus-Minus Leader - St. Paul Razorbacks D Rene Pietila - +36

- GAA Leader - Miami Trident G Tsurayuki Shibahara - 2.66 GAA

S5 LTLHL MVP

The committee nominated 5 players for the LTLHL MVP:C Jaiden Moar (Dynasty), RW Keegan Ramkema (Orcas), G Andrew Dumont (Knights), LW BJ Keogan (Stingrays), and G Kyllian Lind.

The MVP stays in the state of California for another year. Congratulations to Los Angeles C Jaiden Moar as newest member of the LTLHL’s MVP club. He won Offensive Player of the Year and Goal Scoring Leader Awards, and earned 7 first place votes from the committee.

The then-33 year old Canadian’s Statline:  80 GP - 49 G - 58 A - 107 Pts - +29 - 98 PIM - 6 PPG - 10 GWG - 13.00 S% - 108 Hits - 19 TA - 54 GA - 40 SB

Los Angeles Dynasty - 42 wins & 89 points - 11th in LTLHL, 7th in Southern Conference, 2nd in Southwest  Division

Here are the nominations from the Awards Committee:

- “My nomination for MVP is Dynasty F Jaiden Moar. Led the league in scoring, almost hit 50 goals and led the Dynasty to the top of the standings and into the playoffs.”

- “Moar set the single season record for points (107) and tied for most goals in a season (49). His 107 points were 11 points clear of the next player (his teammate RW Zayev), his 10 game-winners tied him for 2nd in the league, and his +29 ranked him 4th in the league. Moar’s record setting season helped the Dynasty finish 2nd in a division that put 3 teams in the playoffs, and removing him from the lineup most likely results in LA missing the playoffs.”

- “Jaiden Moar - led the league in goal and points, 5th in assist. Single handily got the Dynasty into the playoffs.”

- “I nominate C Jaiden Moar of the Dynasty. Had a career year scoring 49 goals and 107 points which was a new league record. Was instrumental in the Dynasty's success in all facets of the game. 18 pp pts, 6 sh goals, 10 gw goals, 55% in FO”

- “First in the league in goals and points, tied 2nd in +/-, 2nd in total shots, as well as top 5 in PP points. was also top 10 in FO%. Also flashed his defensive side while playing the 2nd most PK minutes among forwards, where the Dynasty PK was slightly above league average. A true offensive force, setting records to help propel the Dynasty to their first playoff berth.”

Moar is the second center to win the award and the first Dynasty player to take home the MVP.

After winning Offensive Player of the Year and Assists Scoring Leader Awards, it should come as no surprise that Outlaw’s RW Soren Wanchuk also brings the MVP back to ABQ as well. Wanchuk’s S5 performance earned him a unanimous selection (11/11 first place votes) from the committee.

The 21 year old Canadian’s Statline: 80 GP - 42 G - 69 A - 111 Pts - +13 - 93 PIM - 30 PPP - 6 GWG - 16.09 S% - 12 Hits - 32 TA - 64 GA - 40 SB - 18.77 AM/G

Albuquerque Outlaws - 46 wins & 100 points - 6th in Farm, 3rd in Western Conference, 1st in Central Division

Here are some cases made for Soren’s MVP by committee members:

- “The Outlaws’ rookie from Canada led the Farm League in scoring (111 P - 21 P more than the second leading scorer), assists (69), and PPP (3), and was second in the league in goals (42). Wanchuk was the Farm’s best player in S5, is the second player to break 100 points in a season, and broke the single season scoring record (100 P) by 11 points. The Year 4 third rounder also led the Outlaws to a Central Divisional title and the highest scoring offense in the LTLHL (308 G).”

- “RW Soren Wanchuk - Outlaws: far and away the favourite. 2nd in goals (only trailed by 1 goal), 1st in assists, 1st in points by 21 over 2nd place. 30PP points led the entire league. 37 points more than the next player on the team.”

- “Soren Wanchuk - Muertos - hard to beat this guy. 2nd in scoring, 1st by a large margin in assists and points. Durable.”

Congratulations to Wanchuk and the Outlaws.

Bosse Cup MVP

The committee nominated four players for the Bosse Cup MVP: G Zander Klery (Wolfpack/Voltage), LW Mo Streit (Wolfpack/Voltage), RW Anton Lebed (Northmen/Harfang), and RW Noel Ottoson (Auroras/Orcas).

From the Bosse Cup & Western Conference Champion Nanaimo Wolfpack G Zander Klery is our Bosse Cup MVP.
Klery played 15 games (905 MIN) and went 11 W - 3 L - 1 OTL. The 23 year old Canadian finished the playoffs with a 2.59 GAA and 0.920 S%.

The Wolfpack goalie earned 7 first place votes from the committee.

Here are some cases made for Klersy’s MVP by committee members:

- “Zander Klersy - Led all qualified goalies in wins, GAA, Save %, and helped the Wolfpack to a championship.”

- “Zander Kiersy - Voltage Best record in the playoffs. Great GAA and Save PCT.”

- “G Zander Klersy - Wolfpack: among goalies with 10GP, he ranked 3rd in sv% with a .920, was first in wins with 11, finishing with a record of 11-3-1.”

- “Wolfpack goalie Zander Klery led all goalies in the Beacon Cup playoffs with 11 wins (starting 15). His .920 sv%, 2.57 gaa, and 905 minutes played were 3rd amongst goalies.”

Congratulations to Klersy and the Wolfpack.

A View From The South - Season 1 All-Star Break -

SOUTHERN CONFERENCE

Las Vegas High Rollers

GM Xan Ottenberg

Record: 39 GP – 26 W – 10 L – 3 OTL – 55 P

L10: 8-2-0-0

League: 2nd

Southern Conference: 1st

South West Division: 1st

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 18th - C Steven Banga – 25 – CAN

Tied for 5th in GF (135) and +17 goal differential, the High Rollers are red hot in the desert. Goalies Kyllian Lind, Alexander Sipula, and Sammie Mckelloch are all doing their part in the crease, but the story is the balanced attack in Vegas. Six players have 10+ goals, seven players have 20+ points, and 4 players with double-digit positive +/-. C Steven Banga is 15-29-35 and tied for the team lead in points with LW Terence Mazzei (14-21-35) but was hit with an injury and is currently on his way back from injury. The 25-year-old Canadian’s absence hasn’t been felt as the team is on an 8-2. I expected LV to surge upon his return and create more distance from the rest of the South. Will they be able to stay hot the rest of the way? The house always wins in STHS, so we will see.

Saint Paul Razorbacks

GM Matt Heitto

Record: 39 GP – 24 W – 11 L – 4 OTL – 52 P

L10 4-5-0-1

League: 4th

Southern Conference: 3rd

Mid West Division: 1st

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 19th - C Joe Sjoblom – 18 – FIN

18-year-old Sjoblom is something else in the Lamp’s inaugural season. He’s tied for the rookie scoring lead with 9-22-31 and second on the team in scoring. GM Heitto grabbed him as a foundational player, and he is living up to the billing. C Randy Meritie (30yo, FIN) and RW Jordie Daley (31yo, CAN) are the other scorer leading the +18 goal differential Razorbacks. There is only one player on this roster with a negation +/-, both goalies (Barron Dowler and Joska Laatikainen) have played well. Dowler, a 20-year-old American, is playing like a seasoned veteran, and is 4th is S% (.925), 3rd in GAA (2.61), and 2nd in wins (16). GM Heitto, and fans across Saint Paul, knows that they have something special in Sjoblom and Dowler. The present, and future, is bright for the Razorbacks.

Atlanta Royals

GM Noah Dawson

Record: 40 GP – 24 W – 11 L – 5 OTL – 53 P

L10: 8-0-2-0

League: 3rd

Southern Conference: 2nd

South East Division: 1st

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 13th - G Thatcher Goodyear – 25 - USA

ATL are hot going into the break with their only two losses coming in OT. Goodyear seems to have taken a back seat to 33-year-old Canadian keeper Benoit Loewen - 26 starts, 8th most minutes played (1481), and 5th most wins (15). Loewen seems to bring out the better in the Royals defense, and that compliments the plentiful scorers at the other end of the ice. C Joe Mckinlay, C Len Cozart, LW Anton Vekselberg have 40, 39, 38 points respectively. The Canadian, American, and Russian are all also top ten scorers at their positions (5th, 8th, 3rd). I don’t expect GM Dawson to make any drastic changes, but I suspect he’d like to add a defensive player for a Cup run.

San Francisco Orcas

GM Jason Karutz

Record: 39 GP – 20 W – 13 L – 6 OTL – 46 P

L10: 7-1-1-1

League: 7th

Southern Conference Position: 4th

South West Division: 2nd

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 21st - RW Keegan Ramkema – 27 – CAN

Orcas have been a nice story as of late. After stumbling out of the gate, SF have found a rhythm in the past 10 games (see above). Ramkema is second on the team in points (31) and 9th in the Lamp in goals (20). 35-year-old American LW Aston Critchley has been the story recently. Critchley is the Lamp’s 4th leading LW with a 16-21-37 line. Goaltending has been a bright spot for the Orcas as Korean G Mangjeol Su-Cheol and Russian G Yeim Rogozhkin have split time in the crease. With little drop-off between goalies and a +14-goal differential, GM Karutz has done well finding the line combinations to leverage his balanced approach.

Minnesota Dockheads

GM Kieran Green

Record: 36 GP – 19 W – 12 L – 5 OTL – 43 P

L10: 5-4-0-1

League: 11th

Southern Conference Position: 5th

Mid West Division: 2nd

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 14th - RW Rawley Boney – 25 – USA

Minnesota have put together a very well-balanced performance so far. The Dockheads are second in the Lamp in goals allowed with 109. G Cooper Fornataro, a 27-year-old Canadian, has literally been lights out. He’s second in the Lamp in S% (.930) and in GAA (2.61), and third in wins (15). GM Green’s first franchise selection has been leading the team on the offensive side of the ice. The American RW has notched 43 points (20g,23a) – good enough for 6th most goals, 4th most PP goals (5), 10th GWG (4), and second most points by an RW. The next closest scorer on the Docks is 20 points behind. Minnesota may look to find more offense outside of Rawley for the playoff push.

Port City Privateers

GM Michael Green

Record: 37 GP – 20 W – 14 L – 3 OTL – 43 P

L10: 8-2-0-0

League: 12th

Southern Conference Position: 6th

South East Division: 2nd

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 2nd - G Andrew Dumont – 24 - CAN

Going into the all-star break, the Privateers are one of the hottest teams. GM Green seems to have found the right combinations of players and sliders. The big story here is defense and goal tending. Dumont was taken second overall in the Lamp’s inaugural draft and is living up to his selection. He isn’t hitting the GP threshold for the individual goalie stats but would occupy the top stop for GAA if he did. His counterpart, 22-year-old Canadian Pierre-Anthony Back, has somehow stolen the spotlight. Back is top ten in both GAA (9th) and SV% (6th) and has started more games (22) than Dumont (16). Both have led Port City to the fewest goals allowed (102), so I expect GM Green to continue to ride the hot goalie all the way playoffs.

Rochester North Stars

GM Tim Karutz

Record: 40 GP – 19 W – 18 L – 3 OTL – 41 P

L10: 2-7-1-0

League: 16th

Southern Conference Position: 8th

Mid West Division: 3rd

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 6th - G Pitt Kidwell – 28 - USA

Rochester has been spiraling over the past 10 games as the defensive chemistry has dissolved. The North Stars have seven players with -7 or worse and will continue to meddle until the GM solves the chemistry riddle.

Memphis Blues

GM Gavin Flewelling

Record: 39 GP – 20 W – 17 L – 2 OTL – 42 P

L10:  6-3-1-0

League: 14th

Southern Conference Position: 7th

South East Division: 3rd

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 4th - G Sampa Paunonen – 27 – FIN

Blues fans see a lot of goals scored. Their team is third in the Lamp with 140 GF – two short of second – but also first in GA with 155. As of today, 25-year-old RW Duma Dodrescu has lit the lamp light the most in the league with 25g-15a-40p. The Finnish sniper is one of three players with at least 40 points on the roster.  C Kalle-Veikko Kekalainen (30) - another FIN - has 15g-28a-43, and Canadian LW Wes Pushka (26) 13g-29a-42. Defensively it has been another story for Memphis, and it starts and stops with goaltending. Paunonen is 11-5-0, but the backup goalie Ignat Omelichev is 9-12-2. The 34-year-old Russian is giving up a full goal per game more than his counterpart. If GM Flewelling can solve the riddle in the crease, then the rest of the South will need to watch out.

Tucson Muertos

GM Kriss Nissan

Record: 38 GP – 16 W – 17 L – 5 OTL – 37 P

L10: 4-5-1-0

League: 18th

Southern Conference Position: 9th

South West Division: 4th

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 8th - C Dalen Palmateer – 19 – CAN

Tucson’s Nowry has been scorching the desert in the first half with his 41 points (16g,25a). The 34-year-old Canadian has been anchoring the second line behind Meurtos’ franchise player Palmateer, and showing the youngster what it takes to be a pro while he sits as the 4th leading scoring center in the Lamp – his 25 assists are 7th most in the league. G Lars-Bjorn Sundholm has also been dazzling in the crease with the 6th best S% (.923) and 7th GAA (2.70). The framework is here for a second half run into the playoffs if the right adjustments on offense are made.

Los Angeles Dynasty

GM Stephen Clow

Record: 40 GP – 17 W – 18 L – 5 OTL – 39 P

L10: 5-4-1-0

League: 18th

Southern Conference Position: 9th

South West Division: 4th

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 17th - G J.T. Macleish – 27 - USA

I know hovering around .500 is not what GM Clow had in mind for this club. Macleish has been more than doing his part to keep them in contention as he leads the league in minutes played for goalies (1947) by over 400 minutes and is top ten in wins. Unfortunately, LA haven’t been able to solve the defensive chemistry issues with the four of the six starters having a negative +/-. Offensively, CZE LW Josef Dolnicek and CAN C Chris Neurauter lead the team with 32 points. I expect the Dynasty to continue to tinker and find the balance that Clow is seeking.

Miami Trident

GM Alexandre Bouchard

Record: 38 GP – 13 W – 19 L – 6 OTL – 32 P

L10: 4-5-1-0

League: 22nd

Southern Conference Position: 11th

South East Division: 4th

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 3rd - C Lenny Koonts – 18 - USA

The Trident find themselves currently locked in a battle for last place in the Southern Conference. Goal differential has been a boon for in South Beach with as they have allowed 24 more goals than they have scored. 32-year-old defender Leonard Mcchesney has been a liability with a -16 and now finds himself a healthy scratch. Canadian RW Marc-Andre Larochelle currently leads the team in scoring with 33 points (13g,20a) at 21 years old. He had 3 points (2g,1a) tonight in a big win against the Razorbacks and is trying to get this offense going. Fans are wondering why him and Koonts aren’t playing on the same line together though.

LTLHL Franchise Draft First Player Selected: 23rd - RW Rodney Brockman – 28 -USA

As we stand today, the Mustangs are in close race for the bottom of the South and stopping their opponents from scoring has been a big reason. With a – 15 goal differential, Motor City fans are hoping that McCauley starts to mix up some defensive pairings. Offensively, Brockman hasn’t quite lived up to is first round selection as he sits 6th on the team in scoring with a 6.5% sht%. The bright spot has been 35-year-old Canadian Centre Ugo Talawant leads the team with 38 points (18G,20A) – which is good enough the league’s 9th scoring centre.

Family Rivalry Begins Tonight in Rochester -

ROCHESTER, NY - Tonight marks the official beginning of the fraternal rivalry between the GMs of the Rochester North Stars and the San Fransisco Orcas.

"I've had this day circled on my calendar since Lamp Light released the inaugural schedule," GM Tim Karutz of the North Stars said while adressing the local media last night after losing 2-1 to the Edmonton Blizzard. "I will always roll out the red carpet for my brother and his Orcas when they come into town, but I am expecting an intense game. The players know how much this rivalry means to me and that bragging rights are at stake. We haven't been great at home and they haven't be great on the road, so something has to give tonight."

North Stars' Finnish LW Mikko Tasanen, the team's second leading scorer, will be scratched tonight as he needs some time to recover from general fatigue. GM T. Karutz has called up 34 year-old Canadian Charles-Anthony Barilko from the Syracuse Comets to fill Tasanen's vacancy in the line up. Also, Rochester goalie Pitt Kidwell will return to the crease after getting a rest day yesterday.

This game is the first of four regular season showdowns between the brothers this season.
